My family tell me that Marguerite was married to John Daniel's brother. His brother dies and JD came to the US with her. I believe Daniel was the son from her first husband.
I am trying to find her burial plot..I believe she went to St Louis after JD passed away. My Mom and her sister both say that she did not die in Osage County MO.

I just spent some time at the Osage County Historical Museum researching the Malans' and they do not have a 100% for sure answer. A lady named Hallie Mantel (deceased) believes that she was buried at Isbell, there are no markers there. My aunt believes that she may have gone back to Italy. My Mom thinks maybe she was buried in St.Louis. All agree that she was not in Osage County when she died.
Also my Mom and my Aunt talk about Grandpa and Step-grandpa, and that Marguerits slept between them. I saw a picture of her at her cabin and there were two men there, I don't know who they were. My aunt lives on the property that the Malan's purchased when they came to Osage county.
Hope this helps :)

John Daniel Malan is my great great great grandfather and a few years back, my brother and i went to a malan family reunion in ogden utah where they had published books of the malan family in several volumes. It is called, The malan book of remeberance. My parents have a copy and it has birth records, death records, letters and diary entries. It also has contact details of the families who put the information together. Hope this helps.
gosh its great to see others informing each other - !! -regards
