Looking for the family of Mitchell Dykes (1860-1939), onetime sheriff of Dickenson County, MI. He was born in Canada, father's name believed to be William Dykes (1824-1895). Believe William connected to the Dykes who came from Scotland, near Glasgow, and settled in SW Ontario province -- Wardsville, Aldborough, West Lorne etc.

Would be interested to learn more about Mitchell Dykes and his family. My husband, Alan Dykes had family who lived in Strathaven in Lanarkshire, Scotland. We do have some records of the family but only in Scotland and New Zealand.
