Looking for the Short S IN the North Carolina

My name is Laura Short Bean. I am from Carthage, NC and I would like to find out more on my family history. We had a family reunion years back and there was a Daniel Short from Virginia that had done a family tree on the Short's. If anyone out there has any information, please let me know.
