Looking for Thomas Ballantyne IN Scotland IN Mid 1800 S

My G(4)grandfather was Thomas Ballantyne from near Roxburgh, Scotland, and he was married to Janet Inglis. They were each born around 1800. My G(3)grandfather, John, and much of his family left to come to the U.S. as part of the Mormon migration. I haven't been able to find any significant information about what happened to Thomas and the rest of his family.
