I do know that a Thomas Dobson, together with his mother and 5 of his siblings arrived in Hawkes Bay on the "Countess of Kintore" in 1875. One of his siblings, Richard, my great grandfather, subsequently moved to Australia where he married and raised a family. Another sibling, David, also moved to Australia, but I am still tracking down the rest of the family. Their father, William, was still living in Lancaster, England, together with all of his family in 1871, but must have died before the family made the trip.
