Looking for Thomas Marshall of Boxworth, Cambridgeshire and Christchurch, NZ
I am hoping to find any of my Gr Gr Grandfather's family. He was born in Boxworth, Cambridgeshire c1821. Came to New Zealand on the Grasmere in 1854. During the voyage he met an Ann Shaylor, a Ladies Maid from London. They married almost imediately on arrival at Lyttelton and settled in Christchurch. Thomas was a gardener and I believe helped establish Hagley Park. Later he was listed as a Contractor.
He and Ann had six children,
Alexander Elijah b. 1957 Married Annie Richards of Wales.
Alfred b. 1850 Married Clara Jane Davis
Edward b. 1860 Married fanny Maria Davis
Lynda b. 1863 Married John Harrison McMillam
Amelia b. 1865 Married ? Rose
Ellen b. 1869 Married ? Saggers
Alexander and Annie were my gr Grandparents but I know vertually nothing of the others in the family but are very keen to find anyone who may know something of this family.

Maybe you already have this info or would you like me to research more?
Than-you for your prompt reply. You are correct in assuming that I knew some of this information but did not know the First names of Amelia ad Ellen's husbands. What you have supplied me is most useful.
I am trying to locate the names of any of the children they may have had. My father, since died could not rememmber any of them and had left Christchurch as a small boy. He and his parents came to Hawkes Bay and it appears that my grandmother, Alexander's daughter had little or no contact with her cousins.
I have contact with the McMillan Family and believe that Amelia had no family. That leaves only the two boys, Alfred and Edward. Also the Saggers family and am pretty sure they had a family.
Again, Thank-you for your work, if you manage to turn up anything more along the lines Ihave mentioned, I would be most grateful.

It looks like a long time since anyone answered these queries.
I have just found them and am most interested as my step Grand Pop was Edward Marshall's son. I have been trying to locate his family for a long time and the above information is very gratefully received, as we didnt know anything about Grand Pops family
Grand Pops name was Reginald George Corson Marshall.
If any of the above people are still watching this page do please message me and I can give you Pops details.
