Tristram Wilson was born between 1815 and 1817 probably Sanford or Acton, ME. He was married to Mary Cloutman in 1839 and had the following children: Silas C, Jerusha Jane, Daniel Hobart., Mary, Hannah and Ranson D. He died in Wakefield New Hampshire about 1860. I am trying to locate exact birth information and the names of his parents.

Ellen, I tried the NH Archives on friday. I was there anyway, I did not make a special trip. I looked up the name in the Ezra S. Stearns - Genealogy Dictionary of Maine/NH. Here's what I found about Wilson's in Maine. The Wilson Line "Gowen Wilson" first appeared in Maine about 1652. Maybe you can trace the line down from Gowen. I know its not the best way to do this. But on some of my lines it has worked. I started from the botton, then the top of the line and met in the middle with my ancestor.
William Wilson, the earliest known ancestor of this family, was born in England, in the year 1500. From what I have read, Wilson is actually a Scottish surname.
Will try for the State Library this week and will report back to you my findings. I am also looking for a "Wilson Ancestor" but my Wilson Line in stuck in NJ. Eileen

Ellen, I was at the Concord State Library today. They had 2 books on the Wilson lines. One book was on the Gowen Wilson line. I went thru the book and could not find (1) Tristram Wilson. So sorry, I really wanted to find information for you. Eileen
