Looking for Voysey of New Zealand

George VOYSEY is my great-great grandfather.

I know that he died in Western Australia, on or about 26 April 1896, reportedly aged 62.
I know that he married in Hokitika on 3 Jan 1878, that at least three of his eight kids with Bridget Cummins were therefore born in wedlock, and that seven of those were born in or about Kumara on the West Coast.
I know that he came to the West Coast in the 1860s from Australia, and that at least one of his children was born in Ballarat, Victoria.
I know that the family moved to the Manawatu in the 1890s, and that most of them are buried in Palmerston North.
I know that there are two families named VOYSEY long resident in New Zealand descending from George and Edwin Doran VOYSEY respectively.

I do not know whether there is any connection between George and Edwin Doran VOYSEY.
I do not know anything about George's origins or ancestors, and frankly it has been bugging the hell out of me.

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

Some more - you probably already know this?

The Standard records the death of Mrs Bridget Voysey, of Cuba street. She was aged 63 and had been a resident of Palmerston for some years. Mrs Voysey was an old West Coaster, and both there and in this district was generally respected by all who knew her. Mr Voysey, the well-known schoolmaster of Shannon, is a son of deceased, and the daughters include Miss Alice Voysey, a teacher in the employ of the Wanganui Education Board, Mrs W. Mouldey, of Wood street, Palmerston, Mrs Thompson, of Motueka, and Mrs Fleming, wife of Mr B. Fleming, stationmaster at Waitotara.
