Looking for When and Who Took the St Denis Name to Western Canada

My husband was a direcy descendent of Jacques Denis dit St Denis who married Anne Gauthier daughter of Pierre Gauthier. Some of the family is still in Quebec but alot are in Ontario. I know there are alot out west and want to find out how the name got out there.
