I am just starting to research the whitcomb name. I would like to share information with you. I do have a couple of name from civil ware era.
1. Hezekiah Whitcomb enlisted for service in the Civil War in 1862. Wounded and recovered, returned to Lawrence, Kansas. Wife's name was Salome Coffin. died in Lawrence, Kansas 1879.
His son Arthur C. died in the service during Civil War, he was born 1833 in Thorndyke, Maine.
I will check this site once a week to see if there are any more looking for Whitcombs.
