Hi lulu46,

I have been doing some research in order to answer your query.
It is proving a bit of a mystery so far.

What we have at the Lumsden Cemetery:
Michael O'Malley buried 22nd Nov 1918 aged 56
- he is buried in Plot 14 - Class A - Block 1 at Lumsden

Martin O'Malley buried 18 Nov 1916 aged 36
- he is buried in Plot 36 - Class B - Block III at Lumsden
- he married Margaret DUGGAN in 1914
- Margaret remarried in 1920 to Alfred James Havelock BENGE
- Alfred graduated from Victoria University in 1912 with a B.A.

William O'Malley buried 12 Apr 1927 aged 65
- he is buried in Plot 40 - Class B - Block III at Lumsden
- this is an unmarked grave which as you say, appears to also be the burial place of James SMART
- James was buried 23 Feb 1911 aged 79

Hoping anyone reading this will be able to help you or you may like to contact the Cemeteries people and ask them if they have further info:
