Looking to Connect the Evans of Lancaster SC to Their Cherokee Background

I want to how my family connects with the Cherokee Indian tribe of this region. I have not traced back very far at all. my grandfather was Rev. Spofford L Evans. His father was John Evans. his mother as Emma Hough Evans. I will post more as I learn.
