Looking Whitlocks of Mississippi

I am looking on information on the Parents of Myrtel Whitlock. She married George Washington Wren. She was born Feb 5, 1872 and is buried in the Duncan hill Cemetery in Calhoun Co. Mississippi. I'm looking for her parents. I've heard that her parents might have been John Green Whitlock and Josie Cook... however I can't find anything that repudiates this. any information would be helpful.
