Marshall of New York

Samuel Marshall was born in New York State, don't know what county. He moved to Michigan to the Plymouth area and then to Kent County Michigan. I am looking for information on him of course and also his parents, they immigrated from Ireland. I am at a stand still. He is my husbands 4th great grandfather.
