MARY ANN EDMONDS -- ( NEE - STICKLAND
edmondsallan -OK. Lets get to know the wife of John Samuel edmonds." Mary Ann ( nee Strickland ) This is how " Verna Mossong " named and wrote about his person in the Family Reunion Book . We need to correct the beginning of the book " John - A suitable Man for New Zealand " compiled By Verna Mossong
> Note " Not one individual can claim or has the copy right of the book mentioned nor any right to use any of the material in that book , now or in the future ( refer to journal on copyright - re 2007 maori wahine ) as the original data etc was already under registered copyright notification. No new regristration number can be issued concerning any of previously mentioned until 70 years after the death of the copyright holder , which is presently , me .and then future appointed holders in the Edmonds Family as previously explained in Journals .signed by me -edmondsallan
Of interest , their are many entries/ documentation , that are not correct. Let us correct, John's wife ancestry first . The other parts not correct , can be sorted later . The reason " Verna Mossong " did not give a very good description of " Mary " was because she made a perfectly honest mistake . She gave the parents name as " Stickland " originally first . However as she went on , somehow - she started refering to & researching the Name " Strickland ) ** note the (R) added into the Surname. The parents she researched did have a daughter " Mary Ann " born 21st of October 1804. Her parents were not the correct ancestry that married John Edmonds . LDS records are wrong also in assuming this in their records . The following is the correct documentation
Correct spelling of the name is " Maryanne Stickland " some times written as " Mary Anne " she was the 12th child of " John Stickland " -b-2nd of June 1751 Dorsetshire -m- 27th july 1772 -d- 7th June 1813 -age 62 & Elizabeth ( nee Hancock -b-18th May 1752,-- d- 18th May 1752 DorsetShire . John's Father was a Richard Stickland - b- 1719 and his father was a Richard Stickland - b- 1690 - Dorsetshire > Uk . We can keep going back on this family . They were rapted up in politics , were resasonably financial well off , for the times . Maryanne Edmonds ( nee Stickland ) had eleven ( 11 ) brothers & sisters .
Thomas -b-1773 // Sarah -b-1775 // John - b-1777( only lived 2 years )John -b-1779 // George -b-1781 // Joseph -b- 1783 // William -b-1784 // Samuel -b-1787 // Hannah -b- 1788 // Hester -b- 1789 // Ann- 1791 ( note no ( E ) // and finally Maryanne -b- 29th Dec 1792 - Swanage - Dorsetshire . Maryanne died on the 9th of March 1862. She was aged 70 - buried in Symonds st cemetery AK as her death certificate - ( 989 ) I have deliberately left (4 ) numbers off for Privacy reasons . Many of you need to correct Your " Family Reunion Book " If you paid well above cost for a copy or / Disks , because it has wrong entries in or on it , you may wish to ask for a refund , as you have been sold something incorrect . I also wish to express that I have never doubted the good intentions of the Edmonds Reunion Committee ,and they did a marvellous lot of work and can only be admired for doing so . In general , it is not their fault that The " Reunion book " has incorrect imformation " , including some of our maori
wakapapa's as they printed off what was given to them .I have more detail in hand to prove this statement which I will release at a later date as time goes on I suggest respectfully . that somehow lets all try and correct these mistakes we know already , so our mokapuna's will have correct Knowledge of their Ancestry in the future . Till we meet again - regards - edmondsallan
