Mclean from Scotland to New Zealand

I am researching my McLean family tree and have hit a wall. I am looking for information on John McLean born 1811 in Scotland. He married Julia McPherson in 1835. I have a list of their children but that is all. He is my 3x Great Granddad and would love to get any information on him and his family.
