Michael and Kate Doonan are my great-grandparents. Parents of my father's mother. They lived in Baltimore, Maryland beginning in the 1880's or 90's. I think they were married in Savannah, Georgia. I'm not certain. They had 13 children.
Michael Doonan died in April, 1914, in Sabillasville, Frederick County, Maryland at a sanitarium. He died from tuberculosis. He had been a leader in the street cleaners'union.
His wife, Kate Doonan, passed away at home, on Homestead Street, Baltimore City, Maryland in 1946.
Michael Doonan was born in 1866 and was baptized at St. Mary's Roman Catholic in Carrick on the Shannon, County Leitrim, Ireland.
My great-grandmother, Kate, grew up in Kells, County Meath. Kate was baptized as Katherine Carry.
