Is anyone researching the MORTIMER family in New Zealand who descended from George Francis (aka Francis George) MORTIMER and Sarah Jane THOMAS? If so I have information to share regarding a name change G F MORTIMER made soon after coming to New Zealand which will help you trace his UK ancestors.
I am trying to find out more about my ancestors from the Mortimer family. My grandmother was Fanny Mortimer born in 1870 in Berkshire England and married in 1890 in Hampden New Zealand and I believe her father was Noah Mortimer. Do you have any information regarding them?
Sorry definitely not my George Francis Mortimer as he changed his name to Mortimer when he reached New Zealand. In the Uk his surname was Secker. Good luck with your research.
