Hi Janilye, Fred was born in 1897. My father Harry was born in 1900. My father died in 1975. Neither marriage or death certificates mention his brother. My father lived in Victoria.My father said he knew nothing of Fred or his whereabouts.My father told me that he was too young for WW1 but I don't know about Fred being in the war
Also the entry for Fred's birth (Vol 1A Page 155) has since proven to be incorrect

You said Harry's mother was Phoebe, but you forgot to include her maiden name so I may have the wrong Harry JONES.
Hi Tonkin---this is where it gets confusing. My father always used to say that his mother's first name was Elizabeth---it even says that on his marriage certificate.(Elizabeth---maiden name unknown)
But I've since obtained his birth certificate which shows that his mothers maiden name was Phoebe Greenwood ( not Greenwell)
As you have stated above---yes that is my father's death but why his mother is stated as Elizabeth Greenwell I dont know.
You can see the confusion I'm going through.
I expect GREENWELL will be an error on the informant's part, or a typo error in the records. Death certificate will confirm.

Thomas was another Of Dad's brothers. Would you believe that Dad searched the death notices for years hoping to find such a notice but was unsuccessful. Ironic that his brother died in St Kilda---only 50 miles away from his home
