My Father was Adopted
I am needing input on what I can do as his Daughter- to find out who my ancestors are.I do know the surname is KING. From the Arkansas and Missouri areas. He refuses to share his information he has about who they are, therefore I have completed my surname research and have not been able to connect these names. I believe he was adopted out "in the family". I really need to see how I can- obtain this information. I feel like I have a right to know where I come from. I would appreciate any information you would have to share with me. Thanks everyone
Since you did not give the name of your father or dates of when he was born or where he was born it will be very hard for anyone to research. However if you know what state he was adopted from whether Missouri or Arkansas, you have to know the adoption laws in that state. My suggestion would be is to get his birth certificate that is if you can get it or maybe a copy if he has it, then go to the state of the adoption and put in his name. Since you are a relative you can do this. You know when he was born, what age is he now? when does he celebrate birthday? Look up the Missouri or Arkansas open Adoption online through google.com and see what they say. IF you are having problems, please contact me and I will see what I can do. smith41
