Not sure if it's the same Richard mention by markay above.
Would have been born circa 1858 if age at death is correct.

according to notices below, Richard Benson was still alive in 1907 when son, Richard, married; but the late Richard Benson when daughter married Honner---

Mr Richard Henry Benson of National Park, died in the Royal Hobart Hospital after a long illness.
Mr Benson was well known throughout the Derwent Valley as a keen follower of sport, and was for 20 years chairman of the National Park Hall Committee.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, Gladys (Mrs L. Burns) and Jean (Mrs A. Hutchings),
sons, Jack (National Park), Len (AIF abroad).
