NEW ZEALAND: Biography of Samuel Gregory HARRIS jnr 1859-1907 plus UPDATED notes

Samuel Gregory HARRIS born 1859 Wanganui, New Zealand, died 15 Nov 1907 'The Pines', Tayforth near Wanganui, New Zealand. Married 8 Aug 1891 to Juliana RENDALL born 13 Jun 1871 Nelson, New Zealand, died 19 May 1935 Wanganui, New Zealand. Juliana RENDALL was the daughter of John RENDELL * 1846-1911 of Ringmore, Stokeinteignhead, Devon, England and Catherine DEVANNEY 1850-1909. I've since found out that they had 7 children:-
1.Myrtle May HARRIS b 15 Nov 1891, died 28 Mar 1996 Te Aroha, Hamilton NZ, married 29 Apr 1913 William HARNETT - 2 children.
2.Laurel Violet (Noel) HARRIS b 6 May 1893 Wanganui NZ died 22 Jan 1932 Westport NZ, married 25 Aug 1913 George Herbert RADFORD b 7 Jun 1888 Nelson NZ, died 20 Jan 1961 Westport - 6 children.
3.Ivy Catherine HARRIS b 4 Aug 1895 NZ, died unknown, married 1915 Herbert Arthur REARDON b 25 Sep 1893 Masterton, Wellington, New Zealand - 1 known child.
4.John Samuel (Jack) HARRIS b 11 Oct 1897 New Zealand, sadly drowned at the age of 19 years, 2 Jul 1916.
5.Frederick Gregory HARRIS b 31 May 1901 Wanganui NZ married 25 Jul 1923 Marjory Ann POINTON b 1903 Lower Hutt NZ, died 23 Aug 1939 Mangaweka NZ - 7 children.
6.George Henry HARRIS b 6 Sep 1904 NZ, died 29 Jul 1979 aged 75 years, possibly never married.
7.Lucy Julia HARRIS b 3 Oct 1906 Wanganui NZ, died 3 Feb 1973 Wanganui NZ, buried Aramoho Cemetery, married Robert Charles BALDWIN b 10 Apr 1903 East Greenock, Kent, England, died 11 Jan 1978 Wanganui NZ - 5 children. Robert Charles BALDWIN also married Grace Irene GOSNELL 1908-1983.
* RENDELL line goes back to c1590 Stoke-In-Teignhead, Devon, England. A lot of this information on this ancestral line can be found at FamilySearch.org if anyone is interested.
BIOGRAPHY OF SAMUEL GREGORY HARRIS
"Tailor, Ridgway Street, Wnaganui, established 1896. Private residence: Wilson Street. Mr Harris was born in Wanganui in 1859. His father, who is referred to elsewhere, being one of the earliest settlers in the District. Educated privately in his native town, he joined the railway works, where he met with an accident, in consequence of which he left the service in 1884. He served his time to the tailoring business with Mr. Clapham, of Wanganui, and after 8 1/2 years with Mr. Cribb of Wanganui, Mr Harris opened his present business in Ridgway Street. The shop, a wooden building, is conveniently situated and an increasing trade is being conducted. Mr Harris is a good workman, and gives satisfaction to his numerous customers. He is married, and has three children."

John (Jack) Samuel Harris died by drowning on 26 June 1916, Havelock North. Death Notice in the Wanganui Chronicle 5 September 1916, Src. Papers Past. (On 26 June 1916 accidently drowned at Havelock North, John Samuel Harris (Jack) son of Mrs. S. G. Harris, Wilson Street. Private Interment at Wanganui.
