Nicol of Scotland and New Zealand

In 1840 William Nicol of Paisley emigrated with his family to Wellington New Zealand, on board the Blenheim.
I am descended from him through his son James. I have news cuttings of James's life, but am interested in any
stories of the family and descendants.

Of particular interest will be any material from their life in Scotland.
William (b. 1795) married Janet Jamieson. His parents were Walter Nicoll and Janet Rodman, but I have
no records of who Walter Nicoll was or where he was from or any dates.
