I have a members of my Australian family tree by the name of GARD or GARDE. The top of the tree is William GARD who married Margaret O'SHANAHAN and their son Edward Michael GARD born 1818 in Ballybranaghan, Ireland. Edward emigrated to Australia aboard "Comet" in 1841.
