Norsworthy

Researching the Norsworthy family from Devon, England. I have started with myself and worked backwards.My grandfather was Ithamar Osborne Norsworthy born in Onondaga, Wentworth County, Ontario married to Emma Elbertha Sharp. His father Robert Norsworthy born in Devon England married Rebecca Shaw. They owned land in Ancaster twp, Wentworth County, Ontario. Robert's father John Norsworthy was born in Devon, England and married Mary Shepherd.
I have researched with the help of other Norsworthy researchers but have been unable to find records of John after he arrived in Ancaster. There are records of Mary and the children but none for John. He was a mariner and worked on the boats in the 1850's but not sure where. There are boats on the great lakes but to find records for John has been a bit frustrating. I know where Mary his wife is buried but no records of death or burial for John. Any help or clues would be great. Thanks.
