I am trying to locate the parents or any ancestors of Joseph Woodson White, 1860-1918, of Tennessee. Joseph lived in Whitwell, TN and other towns of Marion and Sequatchie counties. He later moved to Jefferson County, Alabama, and died in Tuscaloosa. He was married to Adeline Copeland, 1871-1918. One of their children was my grandmother, Nina Belle White, 1901-1989. Her siblings,
were Joseph "Jody" Jr., Martha "Mattie", Ellie, Electa, Ralph and Odra.
Per Ellie and listed on Joseph Sr.'s death certificate, his parents were Joe White and Jane Person. I located a researcher's journal that stated Jane Person might have actually been Jane Apperson; why it was shortened, I do not know. There was an Apperson family in Bledsoe County, TN, which is adjacent to Marion County. I would appreciate a look up or suggestions.
