There was also a Parrish family of Auckland. Mark and William Parrish were brothers, I think they came to NZ in the 1890s. You will need to check records. I haven't paid attention to the details as I have no connection that I know of, but I have run across references to them several times.
However I do not think the two families were related.
My Parrish family were from Westport/Hector/Blackball, all Buller and Grey districts.
