This Peet family were Hosier manufacturers in Derbyshire, James Peat married a Mary Mills, Dec 1782, they had issue 8 Children. They were around St Alkmund & Friargate. Some staying in England, others emigrating to USA and Australia.

Can you tell me who Ann Yates's family was?

Hi Karen the only info we have is her father was Thomas on her death certificate in Browns Creek NSW Aust 1861 12th March. bc 28 July 1803. I have put the query to the family and may come back with more.

I will add a further comment that there are a couple of Family Trees on Ancestry, that have her parents as William Gates, and her dying in England.
The only other possibility is that she was married twice. - But I Don't think so.
The people who have put these trees on also have St Alkmunds spelt incorrectly.
