• In May 1919 Samuel,a Labourer in Taradale, Hawkes Bay, was listed as a Military Defaulter. In Oct 1919 they separated and Ada was given custody of the three children.
• In Feb 1925, Ada was in Palmerston North & Samuel was in Auckland when the decree nisi was made absolute. Ada was given custody of 1 child.
