It was not law to record Births & deaths before 1837. Before 1st July 1837 in the UK (1st Jan 1855 Scotland & 1st Jan 1866 Ireland) you have to use Parish records which record the Baptism, Marriage and Burial only. Although some vicars did also record the birth date especially when the children were baptised some time after birth.
Because of the high death rate most children were baptised within a couple of weeks of their birth, so you have a fairly good idea of when they were born and like wise they buried people asap after a death.
You also have to remember that in the UK it only became law to record Baptisms, Marriages & burials on the 5th September 1538, so unless you are from gentry there is little chance of finding records before that date.

Zellerfeld belongs to Niedersachsen. The archives in Niedersachsen have their HP :
www.arcinsys.niedersachsen.de
with search possibility. You have to look further years, because they have still a lot to trancribe.

I too have German ancestry. I have copied church records as far back as 1569 for the town of Ulm, 1586 for the town of Besse, and 1572 for the town of Gartringen. I obtained these by renting the films from the LDS Family Search organization.

gsheffert.

I have never heard of the LDS renting films to people researching their family history, but they are always happy to receive a donation in their research rooms, but they never ask.

For the information of others where is this LDS Family Search Organization located?

The LDS film use requires that users pay a fee that is cost for postage to get films to and from SLC. Call it rental fee or postage fee, it is still a cost for use. The films come to an LDS FHC of your choice. If you are lucky, the center may have film you want; you can check that.

Family Search is the 'name' that LDS genealogy is now know by; they have a website through which you can access records on line and search for film to use at 'local' LDS FHC. The films and physical resources are located in Salt Lake City, or nearby environs (Like the film storage facility). The largest genealogical library in the world is there, and is free for use and access to films located there, or in the Granite Mountain.
