Allan Rayner Harris was killed in action in France on 24th August 1918 aged 38

His brother Jack's son Rayner Harris was killed 10 weeks later on 6th November 1918 aged 24

They both got the Rayner name from Allan's mother (Rayner's grandmother's) surname . .
She was Phoebe Ann Rayner born in 1840 and died in 1922 in the Manawatu, New Zealand
She married Thomas Harris, born 1939 in Bromfield, Essex and died 1924 in Masterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand
They had 14 children from 1865 to 1887
