Re Baskin and Swain Families
Seeking information/photos about the Baskin family related to Thomas Twine Baskin and Emma Elizabeth Swain. Would like to know more about them as they may be my great grandparents based on the following info: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/a/k/Kathleen-Baker-2/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0484.html. What did they do for a living, any education, places lived, companies worked for, talents, church affiliation, photos etc.
Thank you.
Thomas Twine Baskin was born 1856 in Abbeville, South Carolina, and died 1928 in Russellville, Arkansas
He married Emma Elizabeth Swain (1864-1905) as his first of 2 wives, in Abbeville, South Carolina.
Thomas worked in coal mines and was digging for Anthracite coal in 1905
Thomas & Emma had at least 8 children
Emma Elizabeth Baskin died in 1905 in Russellville, Arkansas aged 41. Thomas died 23 years later, also in Russellville, aged 72
Mary remarried to Mr (Harry?) Jenkins.
My maternal great grandfather was Eurskin Thomas Baskin. He was one of the younger children of Thomas and Emma. As far as I know, when Eurskin married my great grandmother, Ethel (Hankin), they raised all nine of their children in Kansas City KS. My grandmother, Betty and one of her sisters are still living on the same street they were born on in Kansas City.
Hello,
It sounds like you are one of the children of one of my cousins. Betty is my father's sister, and my aunt. If you are on Facebook feel free to connect (Genia Owens). We can chat through messaging. I have recently connected with Betty's sister Wilma and a few other Baskin relatives. Thanks for writing. Talk with you soon.
Hi Genia,
My name is Leah. I'm Arnetta's oldest daughter. I tried to find you on FB. My FB name is Leah Cubed. Not sure if you knew, but Betty passed away in May. Hopefully you will see this soon and be able to find me on FB so we can chat more. Look forward to hearing from you.
