Re: Currant family Search

Journal by jake9717

We are only able to trace female lines with our DNA as there are no male lines alive today. Our quest is to trace our Mother's half siblings. Mother was adopted her name Dorothy Edna Peace born in Hamilton, Ont. May 27 1924. All we have been told is her Mother was 18 at the time of her birth and she had been living in Stratford Ontario until she came to Hamilton to work as a housekeeper until the birth of her daughter my Mother. The man she said was my Mother's Father was a fireman in Stratford Ont., in 1923. Mother's Mother tried to keep her but could not support them both she had a court case in Jan 1925 in Hamilton, Ont where the Father said he was not the Father. Later he admitted to a family member he was. We were also told that Mother's Mother had other children in Hamilton, Ont., Dorothy was adopted by William Reginald & Edna Emily Peace. They were raising her from Mar 1924 and adoption was final as of Jun. 04, 1926.
I have done a DNA test with the 23andme maternal line I am in Haplogroup H6a1b group and I am trying to connect the dots
if anyone can help I would love it.

Family Surnames in Maternal line that I know: Parker, Calder, Jones, Vanstone, Harris, McLeod, Fraser (Peace?)

Family Locations: North Devon England, Middlesex,England, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada Stratford, Ont., Canada,
