Researching Giddins IN Australia Kings Cliffe England
Would like to hear from other members researching William Giddin(g)s born around 1807 in Kings Cliffe, England and transported to Australia as a convict on the Andromedia 11 ariving in 1833. Inparticular I am interested in researching William Giddin(g)s English ancestry.
Dear Trevor,
You may be able to find out information yourself by logging on as a new user at RootsChat goto their England boards and post a new topic (like a journal here). Do a global search for the GIDDINS / GIDDENS / GIDDINGS etc. surname to see what research has already been undertaken. Then see what rootschatters can find for you.
And have you "Claimed a Convict"?
Convict William GIDDINS arrived in Australia in 1833 aboard Andromeda II, trial place Northampton, year 1832, sentenced for Life, aged 25 years.
Lesley Uebel's Claim A Convict
I have some GIDDINS connections with my family tree, if you'd care to read my journals.
Regards,
Alison, QLD.
I'm still interested in obtaining more data. Thanks, Alison.

Hi Trevor
I live in Kings Cliffe UK and the Giddings family is one of the oldest in the village.
Our own heritage site will be going live in about two months and you will be able to do some research online via the site or ask specific questions.
Just google kingscliffeheritage but give us a couple of months to get it up and running. In the meantime if you would like contact with some of the local Giddings I'd be happy to put you in touch.
Incidentally I have an Aussie passport myself and am frequently in Aus.
