My maternal lineage is connected to the STROWMATT line via Jessie Baird Rohrer ('nee STROWMATT). According to the information I have, the surname STROWMATT may have started in Ireland as: STRAWMATT. I can trace my STROWMATT lineage back but there are times the spelling isn't consistent with the names that have been confirmed but show up on census lists as STRAWMATT.
