Having arrived safely they proceeded to establish their mission under the protective eyes of the " Rangihoua " . On the flats below the Pa ran the fresh water creek " Oihi " then down to the beach , The new mission settlers established themselves on the slopes of the " Rangihoura " Pa . Bay Of Islands .
On the 24th of Feb 1815 . Rev Samuel Marsden " purchased 200 acres of flat ground from Rangihoura Tribe for 12 axes . This is recognized today as the first purchase of land made by Europeans in New Zealand . ok - till we meet again - regards - edmondsallan
