Robert M Vaults 1838 After 1886 Also Spelled Voltz Valtz Vaultz Middle Initial M Appears on Some Records Can Someone Please Help ME with Information...
Twice appointed as Postmaster in Perdido, Baldwin, Alabama and in 1871 also elected as Justice of the Peace. Since he was a Postmaster and Justice of the Peace, I'm hoping there are more records of him I just haven't found yet.
He appears to have been married several times. His first wife was Mary Forbes 1845-1885 they had 2 girls, she remarried John Thomas Morris in 1868 or 9 so I assume Robert Vaultz left her or she left him. Mary is believed to have been born in Baldwin County but moved to the Coon Hill community in northern Santa Rosa County Florida.
Robert's second wife was Margeanna Elizabeth King 1847-1921, married in June 1868, they had 6 children. She and the kids moved to Biloxi, Mississippi and she may have remarried once or twice.
The "Ëœmost recent' record I found for Robert Vaultz is a marriage to Francis Gorce in April 1886 in Perry County. She remarried another man in March 1889, so Robert either died or didn't hang around with her very long.
However there is a Robert Voltz that married Hannah Dorrah in June of 1886 in Dallas County. But they had a child in 1907, so I believe this is a different person.
I've been trying to find out when he died, where he is buried, who his parents were and where they came from. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
