Rodosta, Radosta, from Sicily, Italy>Illinois>New Orleans
Dominic and Rosalie Barcia Rodosta - immigrated 1899, (Dominic earlier), children Johnny, Sam, Joseph, Mary, Joanna (Annie), Jennie - lived in Illinois where Dominic was a coal miner, moved to New Orleans after Dominic's death in 1920. Rosalie bought French Quarter grocery and family lived above. Last name initially spelled Radosta in 1900 census, changing to current Rodosta after that.
No success so far on Palermo relatives, or parents of either Dominic or Rosalie, although Rosalie's cousin, a priest, visited New Orleans family in 1980's.
Some last names associated with descendants are Palestina, Barthel,Tusa and Dugas.

Rosalie Barcia was my great-grandmother,my father's grandmother. His mother was Jenny Rodosta Bartels,not Barthel, so that misspelling should be corrected. Jenny was married to Joseph Charles Bartels.They had 2 children, Louis Ishmael Bartels and Rosemary Bartels Chryssoverges.I would be able to provide more info, if you are interested and part of this family line.
