I am looking for any information about Rosamond Conduct who married my great great Grandfather, Joseph Fursman. They lived in Distillery St, Heigham, Norwich, Norfolk, UK. Rosemary was born in 1824 in Dursley, Gloustershire.

Joseph Fursman's wife's name was actually Rosamund Conduct b. 1824 in Dursley, Gloucestershire, England. She died in 1877, Islington, St. Mary, London. The 1861 Census shows Joseph b. 1823 in Frome, Somerset, England, was Commercial Traveller & they were living in Snenton, Nottinghamshire on Thorseby St. Joseph and Rosamund were married in Frome, Somerset on 7 June, 1845. Their children were: Alfred b. 1847; Frank b.1850; Walter b.1859; Kate b. 1861; Frank b. 1866. The other Frank could possibly have passed away at a young age. Quite often the people back then would name a new child with the same name as one lost. I hope this helps you in your research. I didn't hear from you so I thought I would send you what I have.

Kind Regards,

Thank you very much for your help - this has been so interesting as we had not realised her name was spelt incorrectly.

With regards to the Dykes family - have sent a message to the lady in Canada about the connection but have not yet received a reply. We have had a lot of help from another source though as there has been a relation from Scotland who has given me further family history.

Kindest regards

I had a message to say that Rosamund's name was not Cundick but Conduct with some details. This is quite confusing as we have found the original papers and the writing is very difficult to read. It could be either of the names.

Thank you for this information - Candich is another way of reading the name on the original paper. Rosamund only marks the paper with an "X".

Hi there
I was intrigued to find Joseph and Rosamond names listed on the marriage of their son Walter's marriage certificate to Susan Ann Smith (1890) living in Glasgow, Joseph listed as a commission agent, Rosamond deceased, her m.s. listed as Cundrick. I also found a photograph of Walter and Susan in Goonhavern, circa 1920s I am trying to find any information regarding their daughter Susan who emigrated to Canada in 1924.

I was very interested to read your post about my Great Great grandparents Joseph and Rosamond. You may have also seen the photo that was taken of Walter and Susan in the garden of Temple House, Goonhavern.

My Grandmother was Rose Fursman daughter of Walter and Susan and her sister was Susan (Aunty Susie) who went to Canada. There were three brothers: William, Frederick and John.

Susan Fursman married Walter Sealey and went to Canada in 1924.
Their family: Eva, Florence, Mary, Walter, John and Al.
I do have contact with family in Canada but would have to check about sharing information.
Hope this helps and you could private message via email if you need more information.

Kind regards,

There is also a big mystery as to what happened to William Fursman who was in the Black Watch regiment. Have only managed to find a few details about him.

all I have for William (age 30)is a marriage cert for 1920, Glasgow, marrying Edith Soanes (widow) (age 44) living in Shettleston, which is a suburb of Glasgow, not far from Greenfield Place where your great grandparents lived. Have sent my email address in a private message re, Susan as I have quite a few details to include along with pictures , hope this is acceptable, just let me know if not, I will have a look at the Black Watch for any further information regarding William
