Seeking Details of James and Rosamund Millington Notts

By SteveMillington April 26, 2009 2416 views 3 comments

In the 1841 Census James and Rosamund lived in Nottingham with their children, William, James, Mary and Elizabeth.

They also shared their home with Ellen Millington who was born in about 1776.

Ellen is as far as I can currently go back with my family history and I am hoping to discover which Millington she married and go on from there.

If anyone knows anything, or if your own family descended from James and Rosamund I would be pleased to hear from you.

The family home was in Brewhouse Yard, Nottingham

James Millington rented a property in a part of Brewhouse Yard that was owned by William Norton Norton and then by the Duke of Newcastle. In 1841 he was living there with his wife and mother and four children. The property was described in 1847 as a dwelling house and stable.
Two children died young:
Issac James Millington was buried in the graveyard of St. Nicholas' Nottingham the 11th of March 1838. Age 10.
John James Millington was buried on the 29th of November 1839 age 3. His family were living in Brewhouse Yard at the time of this second burial. They may have been living in Brewhouse Yard at the time of the first burial.

Thank you so much Suella. This confirms that Ellen was James' mother. Unfortunately I have not been able to learn any more about Ellen and have hit a bit of a stumbling block.
