Seeking Help with Harold Family Smith Family Ashburton New Zealand

JANE HAROLD B.18 Feb 1859 Tralee Ireland. Arrived N.Z. 1 Aug 1875.
JAMES SMITH B.3 Jan 1858 Roxburgh Scotland Arrived N.Z. 1 Aug 1875

Both arrived on the "Star of China" at Christchurch. I believe James travelled alone but Jane was with a sister. Her parents arrived 3 Oct 1875 on the "Waikato". Her parents were Christopher Harold & Catherine Talbot. Jane died in 1890 & James married her younger sister Katherine. I believe the family is buried in and around the Christchurch/Ashburton area. Two of the children of James & Jane went to Australia before 1915
but I can't find a date. One son Leslie john Smith (my grandfather) died in an accident in Sydney 1944. His brother John (Jack)was an apple grower at Dalveen in Queensland.

I will be in Christchurch in Oct/Nov 2014 & I would love to be able to photograph any family graves & to gather any pertinent information about the family. Is there a centre for this type of research in Christchurch? Hoping someone out there can assist me. Thank You.

Thanks for your prompt response. I quickly found James & Jane Smith as well as the stillborn child. She obviously died in child as I had thought. I also found cousins & a great uncle as well. Once again thank you for your efforts.
