Seeking Information on Family of John Muir Ferguson and Jane(t) Gray Wilkie since arriving in New Zealand in the 1870's.

Query by TrevorJWard

I am seeking to make contact with any other descendants of John and Jane(t) Ferguson who arrived in New Zealand in the 1870's. John farmed in the Fernhills. Winton, Harrington areas of Southland. They had four boys and four girls. The girls' married names were Hankins, Marr, McDougall and Scott. Would like to learn more about what happened to the descendants of John and Jane(t) in New Zealand since they arrived 140 years ago - particularly interested in contacting others interested in the family tree and history of this family. My wife is a Ferguson/Marr descendant.

Have been interested in genealogy for 45 years - ever since my wife and I were married. I grew up knowing all of my grandparents but my wife knew none of hers - so I wanted to know why. Family names include: Ward, Pettigrew, Finlayson, Boutherway/Botherway, Marr, Woodnorth, Mollison, Ferguson, Pirie, Wilkie, Copeland, Forbes, Rogers.

Hello Trevor,
I am researching the family of John Muir Ferguson & Jane/t Graysons Wilkie as their daughter Clara Mabel Ferguson married Robert McDougall on the 29 Aug 1906 in NZ and they are the parents of my uncle, James Ian McDougall. Would love to share info if you see this. My E Mail is : rurug@xtra.co.nz
