Looking for ancestors of Benjamin Franklin Simmons born 1766 in North Carolina(possibly Tennessee). Specifically his parents. He died in about 1845 in Red River County,Texas. Some sources list his mother as Ruth Craige of North Carolina and John Isaac Simmons. What I wish to find is the source of this information, does it have some basis in fact?Ruth was definitely married to a Simmons as stated in her father's will.(William Craige,Jan.11,1785,Orange County,North Carolina). If anyone has any information I'd be greatful to hear it,also if I can assist anyone, please let me know.Tertuga

I went to familysearch.org and I found that his parents listed was John Isaac Simmons and Ruth Craig and or Jane Suggs. I guess his father remarried after Ruth died. But I went thru the genealogies instead of the records. How many children did he have? They mention about 20 or so. Too many to count. If you want to then go to familysearch in google then instead of records go thru the genealogies and Benjamin will come up. But only put Benjamin's name in and date of birth and where he was born North Carolina. Then click the search button and he should come up. I don't have time right now to do much search cause I need to get to an appointment. But if you need help I will help later. Let me know what you find on familysearch.com. smith41

Hi! Thanks for responding to my request, looking for ancestors of Benjamin Franklin Simmons.I looked on familysearch.com as you suggested. There was nothing new that I hadn't known,in fact some of the information is conflicting. The Jane Suggs you mention was indeed married to an Isaac Simmons but at a much later date,July 22,1872,so this is not the same person.I do thank you however for your input.I have been a member of Ancestry.com for about four years researching primarily the Simmons family decended from John Isaac Simmons and Ruth Craige. So if there is anything I am able to help you with, please let me know. Thanks again,Tertuga
