Spanish Ancestry Let S Have a Look

edmondsallan - Good morning to all - Having thought of all the angles that someone may choose to use against me, should they for some reason or just for the hell of it , in Ancestry Genealogy , as mention in my journal " Dona Pauilian Leyson " --- etc' I have decided we will continue this Ancestry Research > this > " Particular Journal " in the unproven / guessing Mode . ( ** > STATEMENT OF INTENT - > = For the benefit of " Learning " about ancestral research and what a researcher can do in trying to aquire the knowledge they seek . Should this method be used by anybody / or anything / or purposes of financial Gain , I can not be named or held responsible in anyway - what so ever . Also that in showing this exercise / way of research etc' , none of the work I do in this field , will be judged as unproven guess work . " dated - 6/10/2010
Ok - having made the statement , lets see what we can find out .So far we haven't got much info . We know the surname could be , Leyson / Laya / de Laya . Although all of these names show up in other research websites , none tie up to who we are looking for . In having another look at the " Carcar Blog " I see we have some names of places in Cebu , Philippines of where the early settlers settled . they " Carcar // Valladolid // Navarra // San Isidro // San Roque . When people settle in another land, even today , it is quite common to name their home , their churches , the places they have settled after the places they were born or come from . Its always worth a try to see if this applies in this case . Lets go to " Google Earth " website . We put in " Spain " click on the magnifying glass , their we are ( ** > we have picked spain cause we think she may have spanish ancestry . In another case it could be Germany < ** ) Now up top,before " spain " we put in say ( the blog was called Carcar blog - lets have ago at " Carcar " Bingo !!! when we reduce the map of spain slightly - we can see " Carcar " in northern spain near the Basque country ( might have been the reason they Shifted ? ) And lookee their Readers - the bonus - Navarra . well well well. Lets try a couple of others while we are here . Valladolid & San Roque . Bingo again !! = Valladolid is near Madrid , capital of spain . San Roque is very near a seaport on the eastcoast ,mediterrianen. I guess I see " Barcellona "is a sea port on the eastcoast of Spain , & closer to Navarra & Carcar . Why not the northern west coast ? . Back to google earth , click on some of those cameras , and it looks pretty fierce sort of a coast . I doubt any large ships would get in their except at a couple of ports way further south . We now go back to the " Family Search " ( LDS Web site ) , W click on " All Resources " put in only Surname " Laya " in countries click on " spain " . & we are looking for " a Laya - male or female - early date as possible - with Something on Carcar - or Navarra

they were brothers -- now who were their parents
Father --- Domingo Leyson ( well well well ) thats a gold brick to work from
Mother --- Ana Puido
Lets put " Domingo Leyson " in Family web site in the ( IGI _ international genealogy index ) see what comes up . Having tried the 4 other caterogies . nothing shows up So this is what we have as a possible / guess / not proven starting point. I think we should go back to the " Family " Website < spend a bit of time & see What we may come up with . Back we go - nothing shows up . I went to Mexico also > nothing there near the dates we are after, & nothing in the dates we want in the Philippines either . So we might have to guess the rest. I think we need to dig deeper on anything we have from 1600 to 1833 . will take time. Ok -- Lets all start researching and see what we can come up with . We are looking for Male links , dates with ages in the 16 -------- to 70 bracket . if you find something try and come forward with it & see where it goes - Ok time for a break -- till next we meet-- regards --edmondsallan
