This is probably a longshot, but it seems to be all that's left re- Lily.

A while back I found a marriage for a Lily H BANHAM but in 1945 to Charles H Broadhead and she would have been in her 40s so dismissed it.

But then tonight I thought about all the reasons people marry late and decided to pursue it.
I found a death for a lily Broadhead which appears to be the same LILY and found she had been born in 1898.
Died in 1982 in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

This could be another deadend for you, but, 'you never, never know if you never have a go'

It could possibly be the right Lily on the 1901 census paper her age was given as 3yrs which would have been 1898.It seems sad that if she had been in England all the time ,there was no contact between her and my father .Thanks for the information .Just have to decide where to go next

I have found a Lily on the 1911 census It states she was in a training school ,run by St Josephs. Hunters Rd Aston Birmingham .but her name was listed as Banner. This ties in with dates etc.Arthur her brother was also listed as in The workhouse. It would appear that Hugh Isaac either left his family or died. But cannot find any evidence of his death.Mary Ann Banham was working as a servant for a Jewish family in Birmingham. Not sure where to go from here.
