My G G Grandfather JOHN TAPP was born Dorset or Devon, Eng. abt. 1840's & came to Newfoundland which at that time was a British Colony. John, William, Walter & Thomas are common male names in this family. John was a Fisherman & fished the French Shores of Nfld....
