Taylor of Coonabarrabran

I am trying to find my family history but seem to get stuck once i reach my great great grandfather who was born William Easom in Coonabarrabran but changed his last name to Taylor, all his brothers and sisters are Easoms and their fathers death record shows he passed 3-4 years before William was born and was never listed as the father, Mothers name was Catherine Shelley born 1886
