The Blanks Family of Essex

Journal by searchingrellies

Hi,my name is Noel Swalling of Adelaide,South Australia.
I am researching the family of Lazarus Blanks (c.1752-1842) and his immediate descendants Edward, c. 1801
who was the 10th child of Lazarus and Sarah (nee Rumsey)who were married on 10th January 1780. They had 12
children, nine boys and three girls between 1780 and 1801. Edward was the last born in 1801 and he was Bap
tised on the 14th June 1801 in Little Baddow, Essex. Edward (1801) married Elizabeth Alger when he was 24.
Edward and Elizabeth had eight children between 1826 and 1844 with Edward, first born in 1826. Edward (1826)
married Eliza Blanks (a cousin), a daughter of Lazarus (born 1783) an elder brother of Edward (1801)in 1845.
I am trying to find out more info on both Edward (1801) and Edward (1826). I do know that Edward (1826)had
at one stage had three men and two boys working for him in his business as a Blacksmith. Elizabeth Alger`s
father, Edward farmed at Cupper`s Farm in Witham, Essex in 1848. I believe Edward (1801) died in 1867 aged
66 and that Edward (1826) died in 1885.
Any new information of changes in situation/work or social life would be appreciated.

Thankyou,
Noel Swalling
