"The Garnes Familly" A West Virginia Saga Part II

Journal by garnabee

It seems the Garnes family established itself in present day Jackson County West Virginia. I have only stories and undocumented accounts to relate this story, but apparently Joseph Garnes served in the Revolutionary War, and preceeded his wife Sara in death by quite a few years. As far as I can tell, they had only one child; Joseph Garnes II. Again, with only limited word of mouth information, Joseph II served in the War of 1812. It is claimed that, on the death of his mother, he frees his slaves.Thls sets the stage for another chapter in this amazing saga.
