I need help finding my GGGGrandfather Francis Thomas GODFREY (aka Thomas Francis Godfrey) c.1815-1872, born approx 1815 in Ireland or North America, son of George GODFREY b. Ireland (?) 1804. Francis's mother's name looks like Anita or Anuetta - possible Native American Mohawk descent. Francis Thomas Godfrey and his father George Godfrey are listed in the 1840 US Federal census living in the 14th Ward of New York City. . Francis came to Australia and lived in Portland, Victoria and also South Australia. His father George Godfrey stayed in New York with his younger children, Robert Godfrey b.1848, George Godfrey Jnr b. 1841 and Mary I Godfrey b. 1844.
